Pump Stations

Pump stations can be used to pump water from a lake, well, or reclaimed water supply. Some systems alternate between more than one water supply source. These systems can be simple or complex, but generally consist of a self-cleaning screen, suction line, pump, and a controller. The system is typically housed in a fiberglass pump house. .

well abandonment

Well Abandonment

When a well is damaged or no longer in use, a well abandonment is performed. Proper well abandonment is important as it prevents contaminants from entering the delicate Florida aquifer.

Well abandonments must be completed in a specific way. The pump and drop pipe must be removed, then cement is pumped via tremie pipe from the bottom of the well to the top. In some cases the casing is cut below grade and can be covered with dirt once inspected. The State of Florida requires that a well abandonment be permitted and performed by a licensed well driller.

Water Works, Inc. uses custom equipment to abandon wells efficiently, and work with the appropriate district to abandon the well per Florida code.

constant pressure

Constant Pressure Systems

A constant pressure system consists of a pump and motor, a variable frequency drive, a small tank, and pressure transducer. The variable frequency drive can speed up or slow down the pump depending on how much water is being used. By using a constant pressure system to regulate the speed, your pump will not lose water pressure during periods of high usage. This eliminates pump cycling and can increase the life of the motor.

This type of system can be installed on a well or lake suction system and is frequently used on domestic supply well systems and irrigation systems.
