Will your equipment damage my driveway?

We go above and beyond to protect your driveway, pavers and landscaping! We have a Tire Boss system installed on each of our well rigs that will deflate the tires to help displace the weight of the equipment to reduce the possibility of damage.

Maintenance

What maintenance should I perform to keep my well system running properly?

Basic maintenance for your well system:

  • The warmth from electrical equipment can attract ants, lizards, and other insects. We suggest occasionally spreading pest control granules around the well equipment to keep them free from pests.
  • Keep the well area free of weeds and debris as they provide shelter for pests.
  • Check the air pressure in your bladder tank and ensure that the bladder is functioning correctly. Reference your tank manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Check often for leaks around the well piping and equipment.

Water is not running/seems to be turned off. What should I check?

If your pump is not running or will not come on: First, check that the circuit breaker has not been tripped. If it has been, return the breaker to the “on” position. If your control box has a reset button underneath, press it as well. If this doesn’t resolve the problem please contact our service department for help.

Why is there water in my pressure gauge?

Most high-end pressure gauges are liquid filled. This does not mean your gauge is broken!

Well Drilling

What is the difference between a shallow well and deep well?

A deep well must be installed with a well drilling rig. The casing is driven down into the earth until it hits rock. A shallow well is typically less than 40 feet deep and jetted by hand into coarse water-bearing sand.

Do I need a tank?

Tanks are necessary on all domestic supply wells. Irrigation supply wells do not require a tank. A tank may be added to an irrigation well if you would like to access the water for use of a garden hose or pressure washer.

How deep will my well be?

This depends on your area. We can give you a depth estimate based on our experience and research.

Do I need to apply for my own well drilling permit?

No. Water Works, Inc. will obtain and finalize all necessary well construction permits for you.

How long does it take to drill a well?

Typically, all 4-inch deep wells are completed in one day.

What does a well look like?

You can view photos and videos on our Water Well Drilling page.

What size pump do I need?

The pump size for an irrigation well is determined by the amount of water required by the irrigation system. The pump size for a domestic supply well is determined by the number of water outlets (bathrooms, kitchens, etc) in your home. Our professional well driller will consult with you on the proper pump for your needs.

What is a VFD?

A VFD, or variable frequency drive, provides constant water pressure by speeding up and slowing down your well pump. For more information, please view constant pressure systems.
