Deep Wells
|
A deep well must be installed with a well drilling rig. The well casing is usually made of black steel, but can be PVC or galvanized steel. The well casing is driven into the ground and is seated into the rock formation.Once the well casing is properly seated, an open hole is drilled until there is enough water to supply the pump. Water Works, Inc. uses a Modern Air Combination Rotary Rig. This rig allows us to test the amount and quality of well water as we drill, conserving the time needed to complete drilling.
We can complete most deep wells in one day!

Shallow Wells
 |
If you have limited access and a high water table, a shallow well may be right for you. A shallow well is jetted by hand into water-bearing sand or shell. These wells are usually less than 2″ in diameter and constructed with PVC.Shallow wells draw water with the aid of a centrifugal pump which sits above-ground. The water source for a shallow well is the “Surficial” aquifer, which is the top layer of water in the ground that is replenished with rain water. Therefore, a shallow well can only be installed in areas with a high water table.
Water Works, Inc. has equipment specifically designed for drilling shallow wells. This equipment makes it easier for us to access tight areas without having to drive over your lawn or disrupt landscaping.
We can complete most shallow wells in half a day.

Agricultural Wells
 |
In Florida, agricultural wells are most commonly used for orange groves, berry fields, sports fields, and golf courses. These wells are typically between 6-inches and 14-inches in diameter.Agricultural wells require special permits from the Water Management District. Water Works, Inc. is familiar with obtaining and modifying these permits.
